I specialise in counselling people who have concerns around their own or another’s alcohol consumption, drug use or other compulsive behaviours such as obsessive internet use and gambling.
I have over 15 years of sustained sobriety from alcohol and abstinence from drugs, having overcome 20 years of alcohol and drug misuse. Prior to working in addiction and mental health, I was involved in theatre, music and film in both New York City and England. I now live in the UK with my husband and Bob the dog.
I hold a BSc Honours Degree in Addiction Counselling and am a registered member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am an accredited drug and alcohol practitioner and member of The Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP). I also work for The Care Quality Commission as a specialist mental health and addiction advisor. I am fully insured, enhanced DBS checked and happy to provide proof of qualifications and documents upon request. Please see my website for more details: www.bristoladdictioncounselling.co.uk
Some people come to me wanting to control their behavior, while others may want to achieve or maintain abstinence.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals who feel alcohol or drug use is now their main ‘hobby’ or ‘activity’ outside working hours, and are concerned about the effect this may be having on their life.
I also provide a bespoke discreet international sober coach and sober companion service.
Whatever your personal situation, I can support you in making practical changes straight away.
